Queen of Raw Starts Collaboration With Kvadrat

KVADRAT, the leading European supplier of high quality textiles, has entered into a collaboration with New York-based fashion tech startup QUEEN OF RAW. In the partnership, Kvadrat will supply its discontinued fabric items through Queen of Raw’s digital platform to make it available for architects and design communities around the world.

Over $100B worth of unused fabric currently sitting in factories and warehouses around the world and ultimately ends up buried, burned, or thrown away. Queen of Raw is on a mission to fix this.

Queen of Raw’s digital platform connects designers and architects with unused or “dead stock” fabrics that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Textile companies and brands can list their own inventory of dead stock on the site for others to purchase.

Anders Byriel, CEO Kvadrat: “We are always looking at how we can decrease our environmental footprint. Besides continuously optimizing our production processes and sourcing, we have now launched several strategies to work with our own ‘waste’; this being cut offs left over from production which are transformed into new products as textiles or the architectural materials like Solid Textile Board and Acoustic Textile Felt that we create together with our partner, Really. The collaboration with Queen of Raw gives us the opportunity to utilise our stock of discontinued items in meaningful way and at the same time giving young designers and architects access to our quality textiles.”

Queen of Raw is excited to collaborate with Kvadrat, whose products reflect their commitment to color, quality, simplicity, and innovation, to further this movement towards a circular economy of fabric and fashion.
